OH- Technical analysis of Biffy clyro - many of horror

Why did i choose this video? was it appropriate?
The video that I have chosen is very relevant to our chosen song, due to the fact that it delivers a personal performance, with personal lyrics which brings about a greater meaning to the whole video, just from the performance and the first person mode of address. The use of guitars is similar to what we plan to use, also a similar type of venue that we hope to use, with the use of lighting in form with the performance.

The cutting rate is fairly generic and conforms to the genre charachteristics. The rate works well with the performance giving the artist more time to draw in the audience to have a more focused viewing of the video. We will try to keep our cutting rate up to this standard, this should hopefully keep the audience interested and make the video look more authentic and original.

Cocclusion, what have i learnt from this analysis?
This technical analysis has shown me many things that i will need to consider when constructing our music video, it shows what a large percentage of shots in a performance piece are meat shots, more than half the video was meat shots and closeups. it also showed me the importtance of lighting and how it can be used to emphasise emotions of a piece, and be used to create silouets. This exercise has been very useful and i will be thinking about it when i start storyboarding and brainstorming more ideas. Also i have come away with knowing that we are more than likely going to have to use a spotlight, since our lighting may not be as good as we want it if not.
