After looking through a few videos that are set in churches I noticed that they all had quite a religious theme so I think this wouldn’t appropriate for our song even if we do want to connote a death in our video. It still wouldn’t fit due to any mention of god in the song. Such as the song “casting crowns – set me free”.
Churches in music videos are not usually used in an obvious sense and in the back ground. If there were to be a performance in the church then it would be best to make it not obvious at all and only show it is a church at the end of the video. However this may still not work.
Thanks to this research I don’t think it would be appropriate to have the main performance in a church because it may confuse the audience. I do still however think it would be good to have a church in the end of our narrative due to the sad and mysterious nature of the song.

ReplyDeleteye i see what you meen by the theme of religion in a church could undermine the mood we are trying to portray in the narrative, and make it more about religion. I think that a old cinema stage or school stage may be appropriate but we would have to consider lighting and suitability of the set.
